3 Days in Cloud Forest Paradise with Birds

Day 1

At 6:30, your driver will pick you up at your hotel. We will start driving along the Calacali – Nanegalito road with colorful landscapes and ever-changing views all the way. Somewhere on the road, we will turn left onto the secondary road and drive for about 30 more minutes until we reach Bellavista Lodge, perched on top of the Tandayapa Valley. Once in Bellavista, your guides will greet you and show you your room and facilities before going for breakfast.Then it's time to settle in and meet your guide at a designated spot at the lodge. After a short briefing, you will begin your hike. Your guide will choose the best trails and hiking options according to group size (no more than 7 hikers) and weather and trail conditions. After about 2 hours of easy and very educational hiking, you will return to the lodge for lunch.In the afternoon, your package includes a second hike through the forest on a different trail. Discover the biodiversity of this mysterious forest before returning to the lodge for dinner and rest. Beware of a good sighting of the charming Olinguito, right at the Lodge!

Day 2

Today, you have the option (included in your package) to take an early bird walk at 6:15 / 6:30 in the morning. Your guide will only focus on the birds of Bellavista, around the Lodge. At 8:00, we will serve our special Bellavista breakfast.Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to enjoy another hike. Maybe this time you will go and discover our waterfalls along the adventurous Yumbo/Immersion Trail!We will have lunch at 13:00 and then you will have the option to go and discover the trails on your own, along the self-guided trail or with the help of our trail map. This will definitely be a very exciting time! Otherwise, you can join your guided walk at 15:00 or just sit and chat with other guests while watching the feeders up close filled with hummingbirds of 10-12 different species. Finally, savor a delicious dinner before bed.

Day 3

Today, enjoy an early morning bird walk. If you're not a birdwatcher, just lie down and listen to the forest awakening as the sun rises and sets the world in motion. At 8:00, it's time for a delicious breakfast. Then, choose another hike to discover the lush forest around the lodge or just relax in our lounge. You can also discuss with your guide any day trips you may have available to you outside of Bellavista!After a tasty lunch, it's time to buy any souvenirs or extras you'd like to buy before your departure. At 15:00, your driver will take you back to Quito and drop you off at your hotel or airport around 17:00.

How to get to Lago Agrio ( 2 Option)

Option 1: Private Tourist Transportation ($250 one-way or $500 roundtrip per group)
Option 2: Public Bus ($15)
Get to the Quitumbe or Carcelen Bus Terminal around 9.30 pm and take a ticket for any bus to Lago Agrio which departures at 11-11.30 pm.
Note: When you arrive at Lago Agrio by public bus around 6 am, you need to take a taxi from the bus station to the Hotel D’Mario for $1 Dollar, our meeting point and wait for the guide, who will pick you up at 9.30 am.
