7 Days Discovering the Trails and Diving in Galapagos

DAY 1

Arrival in Quito - Hotel in Quito: accommodation in double room with private bathroom. Airport pickup option for $35 extra. (This day is optional, otherwise your trip will start in Baltra (day 2), accommodation and transfers on request)

DAY 2

After our early flight from Quito to Galapagos (Baltra Airport), our transportation will take you to Puerto Ayora. In addition to settling into your hotel, this afternoon is free for you to visit the Charles Darwin Research Station, where you can get a lot of information about the Galapagos Islands. The Charles Darwin Research Station is free for visitors. Before dinner, our dive master will meet you at the hotel to arrange everything related to your next two days of diving.(B/L/-)

DAY 3

After breakfast, our guide will take you to Mosquera Islet, an easily accessible dive site. Mosquera is located between North Seymour and Baltra. The maximum depth for this dive site is 30 m (98 ft) and the currents are generally gentle. This site is famous for the sea lions that come and play during the dive. Sharks, turtles, rays, barracudas and tropical fish are also common in this area.(B/L/-)

DAY 4

Another wonderful day of diving in Bartholomew and Cousins offers fascinating underwater scenery, including terraced steps that descend to 30 m (98 ft) before dropping to a sandy bottom at 40 m (131 ft). The steps are covered in soft black coral, and are a great place to find Pacific seahorses. The overhangs of some of the steps are the favorite spots of whitetip reef sharks, green sea turtles, large moray eels and octopus. Manta rays, hammerhead sharks, schools of barracuda, other reef fish can also be seen at these sites and in the blue.(B/L/-)

DAY 5

This day will offer some free time in the morning where it is recommended to spend time in Tortuga Bay. This luxurious white sand beach is a great place to see marine iguanas and have the opportunity to kayak along the coast. Many travelers see Tintoreras sharks while exploring the area. In the afternoon, your transport will pick you up from the hotel in Puerto Ayora at 12:30, and after lunch, you will take a speedboat to Isabela (2 hours). There, you will visit the Flamingo Lagoon and spend the night relaxing.(B/L/-)

DAY 6

After an early breakfast, we will make an exciting excursion to the Sierra Negra volcano. This volcano is located 21 km (13 miles) from Port Villamil and has the second largest volcanic crater in the world, measuring approximately 9.7 km (6 miles) in diameter and 90 m (295 ft) deep. To reach this incredible view, we travel in a bus or similar vehicle for 45 minutes to the Galapagos National Park, where we will register our visit and begin our hike to the Sierra Negra Volcano. Then we will proceed to the Chico Volcano where you can feel the heat of the ground as proof of its activity.Here, we will stop for a box lunch before returning to the hotel. After a short break, we will have the opportunity to snorkel or swim in Concha Perla, where we can observe the colorful fish, sea urchins, starfish, sea lions or even sea turtles.(B/L/-)

DAY 7

Una lancha rápida temprano en la mañana nos llevará de regreso a Puerto Ayora, y después de un desayuno rápido, se dirigirá al aeropuerto para tomar su vuelo y regresar a Quito. (B/-/-)
